Chicago Pride moves to October 2021 though some events go off anyway

There will be a Chicago Pride parade this year though not in late June as is usually expected.
GoPride and other media have reported that event organizers have decided to move Chicago’s annual Pride Parade to Sunday, October 3, 2021 in response to lingering concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.
Last year’s cancellation of Pride was the first in 50 years, according to GoPride.com.
Organizers of the annual event have stressed the cancellation is a one-time event and Pride will return to its normal June schedule in the future. The 2022 event has already been scheduled for June 26, according to NBC.
A press release from parade organizers point out that October is officially LGBTQ History Month. “We will be celebrating our part in that history and encourage everyone to explore our LGBTQ history and see how we reached where we are today and the LGBTQ people from the past who helped to make it happen.”
Despite the postponement, events are still going off, from local pubs and clubs to festivals like Pride In The Park in Grant Park taking place on June 26 and June 27. Headliners at the event include Chaka Khan, GRYFFIN and Tiesto and Chicago house veterans Derrick Carter, Lady D, Karsten Sollors and more.
