Briain announces forthcoming album on Art-E-Fax

Berlin-based producer Briain has announced details of a forthcoming album on Art-E-Fax, entitled Cognitive Dissonance.

Briain, aka Irishman Barry O’Brien, last released on the German label in 2019, and has returned to deliver ’11 slices of tweaked and freaked machine funk that should appeal to anyone who savours the maverick electro crossover between Rephlex and Drexciya‘, as the label put it.

Tracks include the forceful Fist Fight Or Hug, The Precipitous Descent Of Dignity, which deals in ‘dystopian electro of the highest calibre’, the moody and introspective Béal Bocht, and the album’s title track, which ‘revels in twitchy micro perc and delicate keys’.

In addition, as well as making music, O’Brien works as a sound technician at Berlin haunts OHM and Tresor, meaning you can expect high production values.
