Corrugated Tunnel returns with new album, ‘This Is Our Last Dance (Original Soundtrack Vol. 1)’

Written by on October 5, 2023

Irish electronic producer Corrugated Tunnel, aka Edwin James, has announced the release of his first album in a decade, with new album This Is Our Last Dance (Original Soundtrack Vol. 1).

The album, which is set to be released on 6 October on Corrugated Records, was recorded over a three year period of ‘introspection, lockdown, and profound emotional experiences’, according to a press release.

Notable tracks include Free, recorded during the height of lockdown, Maggie, a heartfelt tribute to James’ late mother, and Tearing Me Down, which features vocals by Antoinette Dunleavy, and was recorded over a decade ago.

Commenting on the ethos behind his music and this album, James added that he sought to “make music you would like to listen to that makes you feel alive, without following any rules of current genres.”

Originally from Cork and now residing in Dublin, Corrugated Tunnel has been making music for 20 years, with releases on labels such as Dance Electric, NightVision, Systematic and more, while he has also collaborated with artists including DK7, Chelonis R. Jones, and D:Ream.

His sound has been described as “blurring the boundaries between house, techno, electro, and breaks,” according to DJ Mag, and the new album blends a variety of genres in a cinematic style – a soundtrack for a world transformed.

Corrugated Tunnel – This Is Our Last Dance – Original Soundtrack Vol. 1 is released on 6 October, and can be ordered here.
