Live Stream Erol Alkan revisits his debut release, one decade on

Having developed a defining career as a DJ, producer, remixer and collaborator for more than a decade, it was only in 2013 that Erol Alkan demonstrated his production chops with debut EP Illumination, on his label, Phantasy.
Now, ten years on, Alkan is revisiting the title track from that EP, which has featured repeatedly in his DJ sets over the years – A Hold On Love – unveiling two remixes.
According to a press release, the (dyna-mix) finds ‘canyons of heady dub and psychedelia among halcyon chords’ while the (trip-mix) ‘subtly lifts the energy for a pacier take, rich in reverie yet without sacrificing the detail and musicality always at the centre of Alkan’s still fertile blend of house, electro, techno and alternative sensibilities’.

Alkan has a number of tour dates coming up, including March 23rd at Sónar Lisboa, March 28th at To The Rhythm in Studio 9294, London, April 5th at Offbeat in Ibiza, May 10th at Detour Discotheque in Lauterbrunnen, and May 11th at To The Rhythm in Sneaky Petes, Edinburgh.
Additional dates include appearances on June 16th at Phantasy Off-Sónar in La Terrazza, Barcelona, June 23rd at Wildwood Disco in Cambridge, and July 5th at Kelburn Garden Party in Glasgow, among others. Festivals include Kaleidoscope Festival in London on July 13th, The Beat-Herder in Lancashire on July 19th, and Family Piknik in Frontignan on August 4th, with more dates planned throughout the year.
