The late Marcus Intalex was a pioneering force in the establishment of the UK drum ‘n’ bass scene, through labels such as Soul:r and Revolve:r, and his Guidance club night in Manchester.
The Burnley native passed away in 2017, at the age of just 45. Following his death, the Marcus Intalex Music Foundation was established, to foster the next generation of musical talent.
Ahead of the release of his forthcoming Timeless (The Remixes) album later this month, Goldie has unveiled a rare remix of Inner City Life, which Intalex produced under his Trevino alias, which focused on a more house- and techno-oriented sound.
“I managed to speak to a dear brother of mine, Marcus Intalex, before he passed, about his Trevino remix of Inner City Life,” Goldie said of the release. “A couple of years prior we laughed about the idea and he did a version that I played out for quite a while.
“I recently spoke to the Foundation in his name and we thought it would be a really good idea to make the track available to all. His take on 127 has always amazed me! So much love to Marcus, my dear brother.”
Timeless (The Remixes), which is released on 21 July, features remixes from features all new mixes from Break, Grey Code, Searchlight, Scar, Nookie, J Kenzo, OneMind and Trevino, plus newly remastered classic mixes.
You can pre-order the album here.
