Kaskade to Replace Tiësto as First In-Game DJ in Super Bowl History

Written by on February 8, 2024

Kaskade is now poised to become the first in-game DJ in Super Bowl history after replacing Tiësto, who pulled out of the performance earlier today.

The news arrives just hours after Tiësto announced the unfortunate cancellation, which he attributed to a “personal family emergency.” Kaskade, who was recently nominated for a Grammy Award and regularly hosts high-profile DJ residencies in Las Vegas, will now fill in.

“As a kid who grew up in Chicago watching the @NFL Super Bowl every year with my family this chance to actually be part of it is absolutely mind blowing,” Kaskade said in a post on X. “Las Vegas has been my second home for the past decade, as an architect of creating a landscape that includes House and Dance Music residencies as part of its destination. To be able to be the first Electronic Musician to be part of the full game experience of the Super Bowl held in Las Vegas seems like coming home, and I’m beyond excited to represent my community.”

Kaskade will perform a set prior to kickoff and stick around as the in-game DJ as he plays during featured breaks within the game, in turn becoming the first to perform throughout the Super Bowl. Portions of his historic performance will air on CBS’ Super Bowl LVIII broadcast and stream live on the DJ’s social media channels.

Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled for February 11th at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are 1.5-point favorites at the time of writing, per ESPN.
