Kevin Saunderson’s e-Dancer project set to release new album in May
Written by rhythm86 on February 10, 2025
Kevin Saunderson has teamed up with his son, Dantiez, to announce a new album under his e-Dancer moniker, the first for more than 25 years.
The evolution of e-Dancer into a father-son project was announced last October, with the release of a new single, Melodica. A second single, Emotions, was released earlier this month, with the full-length project, e-Dancer, set to land in May.
“When I decided to make music, my path was to make people dance. It always will be,” Saunderson commented. “Dance is happiness; it’s joyful. It’s a connection between different cultures, races and people worldwide. I know it’s in Dantiez’s DNA too. When people hear the album, I hope they hear the connection between a father and son on the same path of creating music.”
The 10-track album, which is described as a ‘collection of rich, soulful, underground techno that features propulsive rhythms, stripped-back percussion and bone-rattling basslines’ marks a decade of collaboration between the pair which started with a back-to-back set for Boiler Room in Chicago.
It’s the first e-Dancer album to be released since the 1998 long player, Heavenly.
“My productions are often deeper and emotive because I focus on the feeling of people coming together, dancing as one,” Danteiz added. “I experienced the unifying power of music at my first Movement Festival when I was 10 years old, and it left a lasting impact. I hope people feel the synergy between the original e-Dancer and its new iteration on this album.”
e-Dancer – e-Dancer is released on One House on 21 May and can be pre-ordered here.
