It’s a digital world after all for Kraftwerk, who have announced a rare residency at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
In celebration of the group’s enduring legacy, Kraftwerk’s cybernetic sounds will take over the Los Angeles-based venue for nine concerts in late May. The pioneering electronic band are celebrating the 50th anniversary of 1974’s influential Autobahn album, which was composed by founders Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, the latter of whom passed away in 2020.
According to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, the series will present eight Kraftwerk albums: Autobahn (1974), Radio-Activity (1975), Trans Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Techno Pop (1986), The Mix (1991) and Tour de France (2003).
Kraftwerk will perform one complete album each night as well as “additional compositions” from their catalog. The ninth and final concert on Thursday, May 30th will function as a grand finale showcasing five decades of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members’ repertoire.
