Written by rhythm86 on September 27, 2024
Lo-fi dance aficionado Mild Minds, born Benjamin David, has set forth his second consecutive single in 2024 on ODESZA’s internationally acclaimed Foreign Family Collective. Coined “TEARDROPS,” the fluttery new house cut arrives fresh on the heels of Mild Minds’ summer-issued FFC offering, “IN YOUR EYES,” featuring fellow Melbourne producer edapollo. In an announcement tied to his latest delivery, Mild Minds has officially confirmed the slow-burning yet surefire culmination of his sophomore studio album. Signifying the long-form sequel to MOOD, Mild Minds’ 2020-released Foreign Family debut, the looming project will come to fruition in February 2025. The GRAMMY-nominated singer and producer reveals,
“The album brings together sounds you would normally hear only in club genres and recontextualizes them, paired with melancholic emotions that one wouldn’t usually hear transcribed by such sounds.”
To make “TEARDROPS’” release day even sweeter, Mild Minds has unveiled even more exciting news. In support of the new album, the “FORMATIONS” producer has published a slew of dates reflecting a headline North American tour. Kicking off in Washington, D.C. on February 7th, 2025, Mild Minds’ will make subsequent stops at the Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, Toronto’s Velvet Underground, Los Angeles’ El Rey and Hollywood Theatre, Lincoln Hall in Chicago, and more.
