#MyRecordBag – Greta Levska’s top Ibiza electro invaders
Written by rhythm86 on April 5, 2024
Lithuania-born, London-raised, Ibiza-based DJ and producer Greta Levska boasts a diverse approach to crafting beats, which she demonstrated at last year’s residency alongside Danny Howard and Gorgon City at Amnesia in Ibiza, as well as with her productions on labels such as Poker Flat, Dance Trax and Get Physical Music.
The latter imprint has asked her to curate the latest edition of their Ibiza Get Physical compilation, which lands on 26 April (pre-order it here) and features tracks from JoJo, Madd Rod, Computer Madness, Hammer, OMRI., Corbi, no_ip, Last Magpie, Stepco, Trutopia and Levska herself. Having heard a preview copy, we can attest to the fact that it’s a belter.
For the latest edition of 909originals’ #MyRecordBag feature, Greta Levska has lined up ten of her top Ibiza electro invaders – to whet your appetite for the forthcoming compilation. Over to you, Greta!
Greta Levska – Amps On Route One
“I have been given high privilege and tasked to head up and curate the next Ibiza Get Physical compilation, choosing some of my favourite electro producers of the moment, including new and established artists, with exclusive tracks.
“Amps On Route One is my contribution towards this incredible project, a track that has made many moments in my recent sets and I really feel that this track represents my future productions within my realms of electro sounds. When I sent this to the label for approval, they said ‘this sounds like the future’… I couldn’t have hoped for a better description. If there’s one thing you do today, go and check out the full compilation as we begin to roll out the music during April.”
Sans Sucre – We Are The Invaders
“Booting this electro invasion with the rather fitting We Are The Invaders from Sans Sucre – an uplifting glitch roller!”
Doctor Jeep – QTE
“I love this from Doctor Deep – the beats feel super hip hop influenced. Simplistic at its best.”
no_ip – Block The System (Original Mix)
“Block The System from rising Barcelona brother, NOIP – I have been loving everything coming out of this guy’s studio at the moment. The full BTS EP is out now on DSK Records and is absolute fire, filled with dark, deep energy. No doubt it will be living in my sets all year.”
Vlad Caia – Sidepoint
“5am vibes on this atmospheric roller! With its diverse sounds including guitar plucks, it’s a 4×4 record that just feels like its gonna sit so well in my closing sets.”
Raxon – Your Fault
“Now this one is EXTRA! Having been a firm influence on my production and my sets, I feel very blessed to call Raxon family, as we joined forces playing together at Amnesia for Pyramid last year, and I was later included in his incredible ‘Unannounced By Raxon’ party at Input Barcelona. I absolutely love Your Fault – it shows a huge nod to the quirky electro sounds that I live for! Bigup Raxon.”
Erhalder – Chip Stress 12 A
“Bringing that BPM up, Erhalder brings the fire funk right here. I can’t say I was too familiar with his sound before coming across this one on Beatport, but he’s now a go-to producer for when I’m looking for high tempo Breaks.”
Levon Vincent – Air Raid
“Old but gold. Can see this being a real freaky moment in my sets, love how off all the drums feel in this one and I’m always a sucker for the 303… deep ACID!”
J Wax – Nasty
“JWax bringing that modern twist, which I’m loving at the moment. It feels like this could sit in a lot of DJs sets while nodding to 2000s vocals, making it feel a slightly more accessible record. But I bet this will twist some backs in the club.”
DJ Deeon – Ping Pong
“Rounding things off as we enter Dance Mania with ‘the don’ – DJ Deeon. Ghetto electro that has fully influenced me over the years, especially with my latest releases on Get Physical and Dance Traxx. This one slams and I can’t wait to bring this sound to the magical island.”
