Sónar adds more than 50 names to 2025 Barcelona lineup

Written by on February 7, 2025

Sónar has announced more than 50 new additions to its 2025 programme, as it counts down to this year’s event, taking place on 11-13 June in Barcelona.

Among the newly confirmed artists are Pa Salieu, Sega Bodega, Dengue Dengue Dengue, and Herbert & Momoko, while DJ sets will feature from Dixon, Actress b2b Skee Mask, Dee Diggs, and more.

Elsewhere, Alva Noto and Fennez will team up to perform a tribute to the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, while the festival will also see a performance from 90s legend Ultra Naté.

Taking place across 10 stages during both Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night, new additions for this year include a Boiler Room stage (on 13 and 14 June) and the return of SonarLab x Printworks London.

The new names join a festival lineup that already includes live sets from Plastikman, Arca and Polo & Pan; audiovisual shows from Eric Prydz, BICEP present CHROMA AV/DJ, Peggy Gou, Max Cooper, Cora Novoa and Daito Manabe; and sets from a host of artists including Four Tet, Vintage Culture, Helena Hauff and Barry Can’t Swim. Back-to-back sets will include Skrillex b2b Blawan and Armin van Buuren b2b Indira Paganotto.

As the organisers put it, ‘the 32nd edition of Barcelona’s Festival of Music, Innovation and Creativity celebrates the originality and diversity of the global scene with a unique lineup that crosses genres and borders’.

A packed Sónar by Day schedule will feature co-productions with European festivals and institutions, including The Barbican London, as well as playing host to a number of ‘sunset slots’, from MOCHAKK, Honey Dijon and Overmono.

Elsewhere, Sónar+D will host a series of discussions and presentations focused on creative technologies and digital culture. Topics will include ‘AI + Creativity’, ‘Futuring the creative industries’, and ‘Worlds to come’, the latter of which will explore future technologies, from quantum computing and non-binary futurism to terraforming and interstellar travel.

The full lineup, along with ticket details, can be found at www.sonar.es.

Before Sónar Barcelona kicks off, of course, there’s also Sónar Lisboa, taking place 11-13 April, to look forward to, with artists such as Underworld, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Modeselektor, Marcel Dettmann and more set to appear (sonarlisboa.pt). That will be followed by Sónar Istanbul on 9 and 10 May, which will feature The Chemical Brothers, Richie Hawtin, Modeselektor and more (sonaristanbul.com).

A busy few months ahead, in other words… 🙂
