The Weeknd Says His Final Feature Has Been Recorded—Unless Daft Punk Decide to Reunite

As the era of The Weeknd draws closer to a close, the artist has made it known his final feature has already been recorded—save for one stipulation.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), The Weeknd previewed the final feature tied to his stage name as we know it today. Speaking about his future career path with W Magazine back in May, he said, “I’m going through a cathartic path right now. It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually.”
While The Weeknd has been sticking to that messaging, his tweet technically leaves the door open to more new music, should the legendary Daft Punk ever get back together.
It’s a tall ask no matter how you spin it, but if anyone can speak a Daft Punk reunion into existence, our bet is on the DAWN FM hitmaker.
The Weeknd’s collaborations with the legendary robots, “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming,” are both among the best-performing singles since the advent of the streaming era, generating a combined 4.1 billion plays on Spotify alone at the time of writing.
