Unleashed: Skrillex and Boys Noize Return to the Stage as Dog Blood
Written by rhythm86 on January 12, 2024
The leash is off and Dog Blood are out for a walk down memory lane after Skrillex and Boys Noize returned to the stage for the first time in over four years.
The duo dusted the cobwebs off their dormant collaborative alias over the weekend to perform live at the 2024 edition of the floating music festival, Friendship. The event took place on the Norwegian Joy and departed from Miami on January 6th before sailing through the Caribbean and disembarking on the 11th.
Dog Blood’s return was confirmed by EDM.com‘s Carlie Belbin, who was onsite for the performance on the festival’s Friendship Stage. It’s unclear at this time whether or not a tour is planned.
It’s been more than a decade since the advent of Dog Blood, who debuted in 2012 by virtue of their fan-favorite EP, Next Order/Middle Finger. The duo’s last festival performance took place in Los Angeles on November 2nd, 2019 at HARD Day of the Dead and their most recent release arrived back in May of that year, when they dropped their ferocious Turn Off The Lights EP.
Boys Noize in 2021 alluded to new Dog Blood music in the works, but have not formally announced an upcoming release since. He and Skrillex ultimately reunited last year to produce “Fine Day Anthem,” a four-on-the-floor track that was not attributed to Dog Blood on streaming platforms.
