Listen to the most flavour-packed tracks we discovered this week.
Music makes the world go round. And in that regard, we’re constantly on the lookout for new, exciting tunes to share with our audience. We’ve found some that cause goosebumps, and make you open your eyes and get up from your chair to dance. So put on your best pair of headphones, or turn up your speakers, and enjoy this week’s New Music Friday.
Here are our top picks for the best music we came across this week, in no particular order.
Awon, DVDDY & Vanthe feat. Scaretix – Down Below
Genre: Dubstep
Kicking off this week’s NMF we’ve got a very, very powerful tune. Get ready for ‘Down Below‘, the latest bomb born from a three-way collaboration: Awon, DVDDY, and Vanthe. Literally, get ready, because this one packs a tremendous punch.
Counting with the incredible fry vocals of Scaretix, this track is the perfect hybrid between Hard Rock and the toughest corner of Dance music. Enjoy both the powerful breaks and the even more powerful drops, in a composition that is sure to ignite festivals worldwide with the sheer amount of filth it’s got to it.
Adventure Club & Jessica Audiffred – HERO
Genre: Dubstep
We continue our journey through this Friday with a band that needs absolutely no introduction. Adventure Club have been atop the Dubstep and related game for over a decade by now, and this time they’ve teamed up with A Records founder Jessica Audiffred for an equally energetic single, ‘HERO‘.
The Grammy-nominated duo and the Bass connoisseur have gone to new lengths on this one, rocking a fast-paced break with rolling percussion, to then introduce the screaming, screeches belonging to the drops. If you were a fan of the last track, you are for sure going to love this one.
JULIENT & Inflection – Believe
Genre: Melodic House, Progressive House
The next song in this week’s compilation is truly a wonderful piece. A double-down on German talent, JULIENT and Inflection worked together on this beautiful track, ‘Believe‘. The whole piece feels like a bath of calm and gives a sense of belonging, amidst soft synths and warm textures.
The vocals themselves also portray a message, and quite a powerful one too. According to JULIENT, the lyrics were made to be uplifting, accompanying the instrumental. “There’s a lot of negative energy in the air and a lot of nonsense that is sometimes delivered to us where you feel like ‘this is the end’“, he says. “But we should still believe, believe in us, in our loved ones, this planet and that there’s hope“.
Trust The Aux – Keep Up
Genre: House, Disco
A new band is in town! And they’re releasing proper bangers right from the get-go. Trust The Aux is the brainchild of Nadamás and Laedon, one that was born to make the world dance in proper vintage fashion once again. Their debut single, ‘Keep Up‘, is out now, and it’s an infectiously catchy one.
At a daring 134 BPM, the track brings a Disco sample to our Dance-devoted plates, through clever processing and a bit of ingenuity, and it all results in a rather fast-paced House-by-definition tune. You won’t want to miss this if you’re a fan of these nods to the past.
R!DM – Gospel
Genre: Drum & Bass
We’re used to the super saturated Drum & Bass beats in these modern times, those that sound really nice but always have power in mind. Well, we’re happy to welcome R!DM back to our NMF series! Last year we had him in November with his track ‘Identity’, and now he’s back with another one of his sweet and savoury pieces.
‘Gospel‘ is a track that came to life from flipping a super old Gospel sample. The end result is as catchy as it is easygoing. You can relax to it or clap along, and both will work just fine. Truly a work of art. Oh, did I mention the bass lines and the Rhodes? Blown away.
R3HAB & Da Tweekaz – My Girl
Genre: Hardstyle, Reverse Bass
You’ve been hearing Adam Beyer et. al’s ‘PATT’ remix for a while now, but could you imagine something like a Harder flip on that track? Well, from one set of pros to another. Multi-platinum DJ and producer R3HAB and famed Norwegian Hardstyle duo Da Tweekaz combine their forces for their new collaborative single ‘My Girl‘.
Uniting for the first time ever, the boys deliver an explosive production with true rave energy courtesy of the former and Hardstyle-influenced beats from the latter, making for a memorable debut collaboration and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser just in time for the summer festival season.
Arcando feat. Hachi Day – Buss Back
Genre: Drum & Bass
Welcome back, Arcando! The Dutch producer has been on an absolute skyrocketing rise lately, ever since Martin Garrix supported his remix of Alok & The Chainsmokers’ ‘Jungle’ at Ultra. And with good reason, as his pieces are phenomenal. We’ve covered his music a handful of times by now, and this time he’s back for more.
Coming from a successful multi-genre background of producing EDM, 2024 marks Arcando’s official transition into Drum & Bass. And certainly one of those transition tracks is this one, ‘Buss Back‘, a powerful tune ready to steal the mainstage spots at all major festivals this summer.
Harshil Kamdar feat. soleil – Leave You Again
Genre: Uplifting Trance
Closing this NMF on such a high note this time. We’re fans of Blue Dot, and so having this new track featured in here feels like a blessing. Young prodigy Harshil Kamdar released a true Uplifting Trance single, ‘Leave You Again‘, featuring the beautiful vocals of soleil. This one has it all you need to close your eyes and levitate.
Enjoy the core Uplifting elements such as a warm piano, arpeggiated saws, open pads, and heartfelt lyrics. Kamdar managed to elevate the Trance experience with this one, providing a journey through emotions while playing with the contrasts of a warm break and a highly-energic drop. Blissful tune.
