The DJ Awards Return After Four-Year Break
Written by rhythm86 on July 18, 2024
After a hiatus, Dance music’s biggest night is back. The celebrated DJ Awards return for its 23rd Anniversary on October 2nd, 2024, in Ibiza. Dubbed the “Oscars of Dance Music”, the DJ Awards have honored the best in the electronic music scene since 1998. This year’s event promises to be grander than ever, with a new vision and a complete rebrand under fresh management.
The DJ Awards celebrate exceptional talent, innovation, and contributions to the electronic music community. Over the years, it has recognized industry giants like David Guetta, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Black Coffee, Jamie Jones, and Fat Boy Slim. This year’s event will continue this tradition, spotlighting top achievers across various categories with prestigious ceremonies.
New Branding and Management
With new ownership and significant investment, the DJ Awards are set to raise the bar. New owner Andy Grant expressed his excitement: “Thanks to the integrity of the founders, who, for 22 years focused only on recognising true excellence in global dance music culture, the DJ Awards remains the only true and valid recognition of the community’s achievements. With this baked into our DNA we are now going to build upon this foundation and create something truly amazing – as important to dance music as the Oscars is to film“.
“I am very proud to play a leading role in the next chapter of the DJ Awards.”
-Andy Grant
A series of dazzling events throughout the summer will lead up to the main event. It starts with the rebrand launch on July 15th at Ibiza’s Beachouse.
Much has changed in the world and the music industry since 2019. Advances in technology, streaming, AI, web3, how people consume music, DJ superstardom, and discussions about diversity and mental health have reshaped the landscape. The revamped DJ Awards will recognize these key aspects and will announce the nominees later. This year’s event will also introduce new categories reflecting the industry’s ongoing evolution.
Stay tuned for more updates on the DJ Awards, including nominee announcements and more exciting details about the event.
